Looks like Dunne will be out for a while, Clark also out for a few weeks with knee ligament damage.

As regards Wilson Trap is reported as saying " I have no problem with Marc. Before - when it was reported that i criticised him - there was a miscommunication. Marc wasn't the player in question, It was a different player.

"i'd have no problem selecting him again. He offers us cover in various positions and has strength on the ball"

I have a funny feeling that Trap will call up McShane to replace Dunne rather than the likes of Duffy or Wilson!

Sadly, both Damien Delaney and Paul McShane are probably ahead of Duffy at the minute. Saying that, you just never know.

He might well with Dunne out. Great chance for him anyway to work with the senior squad and to show Trap what he's got to offer the team.

Delighted for him. Not least because of what happened the last time he linked up with the senior squad.

Great news. Big vote of confidence, especially as Wilson and Clark can both play at cb albeit in a somewhat makeshift capacity.

"Duffy took a big strop after this game [Italy friendly aged 16/17] by all accounts. Moped about the hotel and whinged until they got back to Belfast.

    Better off without him"

Our friend Sam Gamble isn't content with being a poor journalist, so he's taken to creating outright lies over on OWC. Talk about defamation of character...
I'd love to hear his proof and these accounts that he was privy to.

There is always a reference to the millions of years they spent in their youth set up, as if they'd been nurtured from childhood. Duffy played 5 times for their U17s, 4 for their U19s and 3 times for their U21s as well as once for their B team, in the space of about 1 year an a half and all before the age of 18.

Aye, better off without any lad who moped and whinged a bit when they were teenagers Sam. Who says you need eleven players to win a game anyway.

It's nothing but pure OWC propaganda, to use geysir's terminology, I strongly doubt the veracity of his claims. I suppose they have to do something to make themselves feel better about losing a highly rated player to the nasty FAI.

One guy even opines that every time he's seen Duffy, he's been "out of his depth".

It could be worse, he could be moping and whinging about "hate speech" on an internet forum.

Isn't the general rule to doubt the veracity of any claims made over on OWC?

You are right. Contriving falsehoods is commonplace in that corner of the internet.

Does anybody care if he did whinge after the Italy game? He was 17, Jesus. Teenagers aren't typically known for their stoicism in the face of disappointment.

Mostly likely is true. After all weren't we all a bit stroppy that day, not just our Shane? We gave away a soft goal in Bulgaria after taking the lead. A lost opportunity and ultimately proved costly for our hopes of topping the group.
