Is today D day for Licences

30th Nov ? Is this the day that drogs (and any others) have to pay all o/s wages in order to get a licence for the division they are currently in ? I want drogs to stay in the prem, looking forward to the 4 games next year, besides boylesports offering a tasty 6/4 for us to finish ahead of them

In a word, no. AFAIK clubs can get an extension until the 31st January to have the house in order.

I don't think any extension is going to help Drogs that much, or indeed Bohs if their legal issues go the way most people think they will.

The extension is presumably to help other clubs whose problems are bubbling under the surface.

isnt the January deadline to have the Revenue fully paid and some clubs were trying to use its as a loophole for the wages issue.

    Yes.

All wages owing have to be paid by midnight tonight.

You have to be in the process of coming to arrangements for paying players by today. It doesn't matter when they are paid as long as the player agrees.

Statement on the Kildare County website regarding the licensing. The club were told to apply for a first division license just in case....

    http://www.kildarecountyfc.com/news/...sp?NewsID=1120

So Feburary 18th would appear to be D day with the season starting on the 6th of March.

So, if any one of the 10 Premier clubs are refused a licence, the First Division club taking their place will only have 16 days (at most) to prepare for the Premier...?

Yep and the same would go for any A league team who may take the place of a first division team, should one fail in their application.

Clubs should be applying for the Premier Division.
If they don't wish to apply for the Premier Division that should appear in their License/Licence application.

Are you making a query about clubs who don't know what they want?

No. By February 18th, Finn Harps for example, who could maybe take the place of Drogheda, will presumably have a team built for the First Division, not the Premier. Kind of fùcks them up if they're told they're being thrown into the Premier 16 days before it starts.

Don't see that as much of a problem, they started the 2008 Premier with a First Division team, despite a few months notice.

No they shouldn't. Budget, players, etc would be totally different. It's farcical that clubs don't know for sure what division they'll be in next season.

A number of First Division clubs will get Premier Division licences before the start of the season.
But you are suggesting they shouldn't even apply.

The post to which you responded was about clubs preparing for the Premier. There's more to that than getting a licence. It's nonsense that a club could be promoted with a First Division financial structure and squad in place.

afaik you cant be awarded a licence you did not apply for ,so if you apply for a first you can only be given a first and not a prem
