Cheers for that, if Galway United fail to win more games they will be relegated

Lads, the rules are the rules. Flares/bombs are illegal at games, and there is a heavy financial penalty for those that use them. People have been injured and killed by them at games in the past, and even if it hasn't happened in this country, there is a risk every time a flare goes off. Does it take a death in the crowd before someone gets a grip??

And no, there are no flares used in British grounds, for very obvious safety reasons, never mind financial penalties.

we always have the same problems with fines for this lark up in united park. thing is i actually love seein these displays and the fines dont bother me too much. i remember goin to see us in the division 1 when we would get **** crowds andas a result no atmosphere so for me stuff like this is great and it also gets kids involved supporting their team. i think kids involved in all this effort would be more likely to leave the displays to others in a few years but will still follow the club over liverpool, man yoo etc.

however it is against the rules and we cant have any grievances when our clubs get fined. dont think its right to attack the perpetrators as not being "real" fans though. its not their fault their club is in ****...they'll be on the terraces through it all so dont knock em

we better tell all this people on the boats that its very dangerous to light the flares when in an emergency!! They are savety gear on boats!!!! Nobody got killed by them and they are nor dangerous. That was other firework which were altered with nails and stuff or iligal fireworks, these are not iligal.

In the PL, here's how the situation is dealt with at Liverpool FC.

Ged Poynton is Anfield Stadium Manager and the safety certificate holder for the ground. He says: "The ground regulations are clearly described and scripted outside the turnstiles. We don't write them but we have to work within them."

The club has a strict policy against flaresand anyone bringing any into Anfield will face a life ban from the ground as they can cause serious injury or, in severe cases, death.
The use of flares inside football grounds in the UK is illegal and if fans are found setting flares off at Anfield, the club faces a hefty fine.

"As far as flares are concerned, they come under controlled explosives, Flares are dangerous and if they are let off in a crowded area, as has been proved in the past, they could kill somebody."
