Anybody any info on this?
I don't even think the FAI have details on this.
We're assembling a squad at present with word that 2 other sides will be competing from Donegal in this. We can't tell anyone anything about it.
How can you budget for a competition when you don't know who you'll be playing or how many games there will be? Travel costs, Refs, etc.
Hadn't heard anything myself but Shels announced they were 'selected' for it
As far as i know, City's underage teams are pulling out of the Cork youth leagues at the end of this season.
I think it's meant to start August/September, that because the A Championship sides are entering teams, that's why that league is wrapping up so early this year. Haven't heard anything about the groups, but the U-20 league was always regional.
It's to be an "elite" Division of 14 with 2 regional groups below that plus, it starts in August.
That's about all we know.
Is this definitely, final answer, ending the third tier of the league?
Some info on Bray website:
http://www.braywanderers.ie/index.ph...1&tt_news=1264
So with "Elite" league of 12:
Bray, Bohs, Cork, Dundalk, Mervue, Pats, Salthill, Rovers,Shels, UCD, Waterford, Wexford
We'll have 2 regional divisions of around 7? (guessing that A league sides enter too?)
Northern:
Sligo, Derry, Drogheda, Mons, Harps, Fanad and Letterkenny Rovers
Southern:
Galway, Limerick, Longford, Athlone, Cobh, Tralee, Carlow
I know Letterkenny were entering, anyone else know of any other non-league sides entering?
Did I read somewhere Castlebar will be entering a team? I'll try and find it
With the "new" age rules for the upcoming season anyone know for sure what year these players have to be born in?
You have to be born in 93 or after. So basically it's those who would have had one more year at youths level under the old age group rules. They'll now be over age for youths but can feed into the 19's league which works out well.
im guessing from what Vim Kovarmans was hinting that all teams will have to play in "stadiums" as opposed to pitches. So if we look at the elite league there Bray have the carlisle, Bohs have dalymount, Cork have the FAI owned Bishopstown, Dundalk have orial, Mervue have a pitch but a great underage, Pats have inchcore, Salthill have a field on the moores but an excellent underage setup, Rovers have SDCC stadium,Shels have Dannigers Tolka, UCD have Bellfield, Waterford have WCCs stadium (and john delaney, milo corcoran and john tracy, and the star newspaper) Wexford have a good underage.
Is there any dates for the season to kick off for u19s
Week ending 28th August
Don't know
Just been told yesterday that only players Born in 1993 and after can play in this. We have 3 players who were born late 92 and will be 18 when the league starts yet, they will not be allowed to play for us. Bloody stupid.
This under 19's league is becoming more of a farce the more I hear about it.
Couple that with the **** poor details supplied by the FAI, it's not easy for clubs to prepare for it.
I don't think you can say they're missing out on Youths football really as they are still getting the same years playing underage as everyone over the past few decades.
I do agree with you that players who are 18 when the league kicks off should be allowed played U18 football and likewise for other age groups but January has always been the month they go on.
When I heard they were introducing an U19 age group this season I thought initially it was a fantastic idea as it gives young lads an extra year underage before Adult football but when I heard that they have 'new' age group rules and read through them I thought to myself ''what is the point in this????". U19 should be for players born in 1992 and after not '93.
So how long does this season run for? Is it on right through the winter period?
Found the fixtures for the Southern section on the Tralee Dynamos website, it runs from August 28th til April 1st with a winter break from the 4th of December til the 15th of January. There is a cup competition too
Edit: The fixtures for the Elite Division from the Bray website
Northern section teams:
Dundalk
Derry
Sligo
Monaghan
Longford
Harps
Fanad
18 games from Aug to April.
I didn't get the fixture list yet but will post as soon as I get it.
i cant wait for this to start .. cork city had a very good u17 team last year so it will be interesting to see how they fair against stronger teams than there used to
Some more fixtures found for Shelbourne, Salthill Devon and on Wikipedia.

Full fixture list here.
Thanks, FJ, but we had that. In typical Abbotstown fashion, fixtures appear to have been provided Division by Division - nobody got all three sections (Elite, Southern & Northern), so no-one can put the lot online on his/her own!
We're still waiting for the Northern Division fixtures here, we've got the Elite and Southern.
Any joy, Sam Heggy?
I'd also be interested if anyone has heard how the season finishes: playoffs, quarter-finals or what. And any info on the Cup format (I know we'll only get the draw after it's made, duh!!), will it be regional and then an open round or what?
BTW, no sign of any of the fixtures on the FAI or Airtricity sites yet, though they went out at least a week ago!
Not quite. :p
Before I posted that, we only had fixtures for individual teams (Shelbourne, Salthill Devon, Bray Wanderers) in the Elite League.
But I guess I should've said "full fixtures list for the Elite League" instead of raising your hopes of seeing some Northern Division fixtures in there...
There was a fixture meeting last night in Monaghan, when all those fixtures are ok'd I'll post up here.
Full Fixtures!
Finally, the combined full fixture list in date order - if anyone thinks it can be relied on - is made available here.
Errors if spotted, please post them here in the thread ...
PS: I don't plan to update scores week by week, but I would keep a table/tables if there was a reasonable chance of getting reliable results. Any offers?
il add the cork city results to this thread anyway ...
should also be able to provide match photos.
and match reports
Is there any site keeping up to date tables. The LoI website... well, I'm not saying anything on the subject.
It's in the other thread: http://loi19.webnode.com
Fair play, the FAI might want to outsource the maintenance of the LoI website to the likes of foot.ie...
Any idea how the promotion/relegation will work?
The logical option would be if the bottom 2 teams in the Elite Division will be relegated and the Northern and Southern Division winners would be promoted (if they meet Elite Division requirements).
Any confirmation of this?
