Some of my fears certainly came to pass on Saturday as there was a last minute scramble to make sure we had eleven players and some of the new lads had only been up to one or two trainings so the warm-up was spent trying to learn each other’s names. With the league due to start tomorrow there’s a disquieting air of uncertainty around the future of Terenure 3rds. This will by my sixth season with the club and most of the previous five have centred on the same squad, there has always been a core of reliable old heads that could be counted on every week and you could take the field knowing that every game would at least produce a battling performance. As Terenure FC continues to grow we start looking ahead to another new season in the UCFL.

The club requires players, particularly goalkeepers, coaches and managers for the coming season. There is likely to be 4 mens teams and an over 35's team, spread from the top division down, so players of all abilities are welcome to join.

Summer training will take place in Bushy Park, Terenure, starting on Tuesday 10th of July at 6.30pm and will continue on Tuesday and Thursday ...

AFC Justice 5 – 0 Terenure FC 3rds

Five games in eleven days would be a test for any professional side and it certainly proved a test too many for us on Wednesday evening. AFC Justice came in to the game fresh, after a few weeks without a game, and had a full squad of players available. Terenure FC 3rds 2 - 3 Grant City

If I’m looking at things positively I suppose I can say we’ve been entertaining in our last few games, going down 3-2 on Wednesday, a 3-3 draw on Saturday and another 3-2 loss on Monday. Dollymount FC 2 – 3 Terenure FC 3rds

Still out with injury I declined the midweek trip to one of my least favourite football pitches and thankfully my absence brought the lads some luck. Dollymount have been a constant thorn in our side since we landed in division 3 and this was a first win over them at the fifth attempt.
